The New University of Strasbourg Sports Centre: A Landmark of Modern Athletics and Sustainable Design
The University of Strasbourg has unveiled its ambitious new Centre Sportif Universitaire (CSU)—a state‑of‑the‑art sports complex designed to redefine athletic life on campus. This five‑level facility spans 6,800 m², offering vast spaces dedicated to training, wellness, and competition. The CSU provides facilities for a wide range of sports. Across its eight dedicated rooms and three gymnasiums, students can practice:
Musculation & cardio‑training, martial arts in a spacious dojo for judo, karate, aikido, rock climbing, with walls reaching 14 meters, dance, fitness, boxing, step, and last but not least of course squash! ASB has installed 2 System100/40 courts with ASB Pro GlassBackWalls. The space was precisely defined to have the exact dimensions for ASB System40 front and side walls and an ASB System100 wall between the 2 courts. Several site visits ensured a smooth unloading and installation process to make the ASB courts part of this brand new building.
This new CSU with its innovative wood–concrete hybrid structural design is designed as a vibrant meeting place—where beginners, amateurs, and advanced athletes alike can train, progress, and connect. Its blend of high‑performance facilities, eco‑conscious construction, and inclusive design marks it as one of France’s most advanced university sports centers.
